Project Pat-If I had of said NO when I said YES!

I recently watched the Dear Future Wifey Podcast with Pastor Keion Henderson, and he mentioned how if you had of said no when you said yes and yes when you said no, you would be at a totally different place in life. I often think to myself man, if I would have just not knocked on the door, if I hadn’t of ate so many cookies, if I had of said “No I will not make out with you” in my Billy Madison voice. You’ve got to love an Adam Sandler movie, right? When I think of this, it’s not in a bad way. It could be as simple as if I had of went to school at the University of Alabama, over the University of Central Oklahoma, I would literally be in a different place.

I look at a life as being a woven basket. Some baskets are made to carry things, and some are just for decoration. Our lives are a woven basket of good and bad experiences and decisions that makes us who we are. Many of our lives are on display for others and we can attest that we don’t look like what we’ve been through. So, when people who know our story, see us still thriving, it’s encouragement to them.

The thing to remember is that your life is your story. YOU get to decide IF, WHEN, or HOW much of it you want to tell.

IF ONLY I KNEW BACK THEN WHAT I KNOW NOW is that although I love to see people live freely in their truth, I should have shared my heart a little less. There were so many times I should have said no when I said yes, and yes when I said no and there’s sometimes that I should have just been quiet.

Now I know you’re wondering where Project Pat comes in at and here’s where. It was recently released that Project Pat has been preaching. He says he’s not a preacher but talks about God and is spreading his word. One person commented on Instagram and asked, “wasn’t he just feeding the streets 2 years ago”. Many came to his defense, me personally wouldn’t care if he was feeding the streets 2 minutes ago, there’s no time span on what God can do. What we can learn from this is….

  1. You don’t have to have a title to live out your purpose.
  2. You don’t have to have a perfect story to do live out your purpose
  3. Just know there will always be that one person to “remember when you” as your living out your purpose.

Now in the words of the old Project Pat song,

“Gotta take the good with the bad, smile with the sad. Love what you got and remember what you had”.

  1. What a great story that resonates with us all, well us adults. As we reflect back on past situations in life. It’s great to blend the points and to recognize that even though we chose a thing or two prior.. it doesn’t dictate who we are present day!

    1. I agree and we are at liberty to make changes on ourselves as much as we need to and as often.
